Golden Valley's "We All Count" Competition

Everyone counts logoThe Golden Valley Human Rights Commission (HRC) presented 12 local students with awards Jan 31, 2010, as part of its "We All Count" Census Competition.

The contest was open to students grades 9-12 in the Hopkins or Robbinsdale School Districts, Breck School, or Perpich Center for Arts Education. Students created and produced one-minute public service announcements (PSAs) or banners/posters educating and encouraging residents to participate in the upcoming 2010 US Census. They were particularly encouraged to develop materials to encourage participation in thecensus for under-represented groups (eg, college students, homes with multiple families, elderly, renters, residents for whom English is a second language, etc).
