Golden Valley Animal Humane Society's Walk For Animals

Each year during Be Kind to Animals Week, the Golden Valley Animal Humane Society holds an annual "Walk for Animals" the first Saturday in May. This "Walk for Animals" draws more people and pets, and raises more money for animals, than any other pet walk in the world.

The five-mile walk begins at the Animal Humane Society, 845 Meadow Lane N, and continues north on Wirth Parkway and Xerxes to 29th Ave N, where it doubles back along the same route. Walkers can shorten the trip at any time by turning around and returning to the shelter. Vans travel along the route for emergency transportation, and water (for both humans and pets) is available along the way.
