The nine probationary firefighters had their graduation ceremony at the Plymouth Creek Center June 15. This ceremony celebrated the completion of approximately 200 hours of class time since January and marks the halfway point of their probationary period.

Although this was a big step on their way to becoming firefighters, there is still a long way to go.

Over the next six months, the probationary firefighters will complete more certifications and training, with the goal of achieving the title of Apprentice Firefighter in January 2018.

For information about becoming a paid, on-call firefighter, visit the Fire Recruitment page on the City website or, for specific questions, contact Battalion Chief Steve Baker at sbaker@goldenvalleymn.gov.
