Street Banner Art Enters Public Review And Comment Period

Artwork for the City’s new street banners in downtown Golden Valley is now available for a 30-day public review and comment period. The banners will replace the old, damaged ones that line a few streets near City Hall campus.

To solicit art for the banners, the City worked in partnership with Golden Valley Arts (GVA), which coordinated the selection process in accordance with Golden Valley’s Public Art Policy.

After reviewing submitted art and winning photos from the City’s Views Of The Valley photo contest, the GVA’s Public Art Panel chose six pieces to be printed on the new street banners. The 26′ x 96′ banners mark the entryways to downtown Golden Valley and serve to enhance community identity and pride.

The public review and comment period gives citizens a chance to provide input on the selected art and it’s intended use. To review and comment on the chosen banner art, click here.
