New Challenge Course And All-Inclusive Play Area Ready For Action At Schaper Park

Minnesota’s first outdoor fitness challenge course, along with a new all-inclusive play structure, opened Sept 9 at Golden Valley’s Schaper Park, 631 Ottawa Ave N. The challenge course encourages active lifestyles, and the all-inclusive play area makes it possible for families of all ability levels to enjoy the park.

The fitness challenge course, designed for ages 13 and up, includes obstacles that participants navigate over, under, around, and through as they race against the clock. The all-inclusive play structure is designed to meet the needs of kids and families of all ability levels.

The new park amenities are the result of a partnership between the City of Golden Valley, Three Rivers Park District, MN/WI Playground, Paul’s Pals, Golden Valley Rotary Club, and the Golden Valley Community Foundation.

Three Rivers Park District operates the Luce Line Regional Trail, which travels through Schaper Park. The park includes parking and restrooms available for regional trail users, and the new challenge course and play equipment will enhance the trail experience.
