Little Free Library Dedication And Playground Grand Opening Celebrated Today At St Croix Park

The rain didn’t keep the celebration at bay as dozens of attendees came out for the Covenant Village of Golden Valley dedication of a brand new Little Free Library at the City’s St Croix Park. The event also doubled as a grand opening for the new St Croix Park playground, which was installed this summer.
The park now has two Little Free Libraries, one for adults and one for children, both right next to the new playground.

The Little Free Library innovators Emery Erickson and Dick Davideit, along with other Covenant Village residents, cut the ribbon at the ceremony in front of City officials, Covenant Village residents, a group of students on a field trip from King of Grace Lutheran Church and School, and other community members.

Council members Joanie Clausen and Larry Fonnest, and Mayor Shep Harris, gave speeches during the ceremony, and light refreshments were served after the ceremony as attendees gathered cheerfully under tents while the rain poured down.
