Demolition Of Old Brookview Building Scheduled For Oct 9

Golden Valley’s old Brookview Community Center will be demolished Monday, Oct 9, 2017, at 8 am. The building at 200 Brookview Parkway S, which dates to the 1920s, had been expanded and remodeled several times over the years. The City found it unfeasible to continue investing in maintenance of an aging structure and instead chose to invest in a new facility that serves the needs of today’s Golden Valley.

Construction of the new Brookview began Oct 6, 2016. Completion is scheduled for late fall 2017/spring 2018, and a building grand opening celebration is set for Dec 1, 2017. The new 37,000-square-foot building will meet Golden Valley’s needs for recreation programming, meeting spaces, banquet facilities, and community gathering spots as well as the needs of its golf customers (get detailed information about the project).
