All eligible voters in Golden Valley can vote absentee—in-person or by mail—beginning Friday, Sept 23. This is the first presidential election that voters in Minnesota may vote absentee without any specific reason.
At its Dec 1 meeting, the Golden Valley City Council unanimously adopted the City’s proposed 2016-2017 biennial budget and 2016 tax levy (payable 2016). The 2016 tax levy will be $19,813,310, a reduction of $129,000 from the preliminary levy of $19,942,310 adopted by the City Council Sept 1.
For the 25th consecutive year, the City of Golden Valley has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
City utility customers can now pay and manage their bills online with a service that includes billing, meter reading, and usage history; service information; and auto pay information.
Because the Golden Valley has an odd-year municipal election, it will be one of the first Hennepin County cities to implement new voting machines on election day Nov 5.
