Golden Valley Police are continuing to see an increase in reported theft from autos, garage burglaries, and auto thefts in residential areas. Many are due to unlocked cars and doors. The majority of these incidents could have been prevented.
On June 1, 2015, five residential burglaries were reported in northeast Golden Valley (east of Hwy 100 and north of Golden Valley Rd–see map below for more detail). All of these forced-entry burglaries occurred during the day when the homeowners were away from home, and unknown suspect(s) stole items including electronics, computers, and jewelry.
Over the last several weeks, Golden Valley police have taken multiple residential burglary reports that have similarities. These incidents are occurring during the day while homeowners are gone, and burglar(s) are forcing entry (breaking glass; kicking doors) to gain access to the home and stealing everything from electronics, household items, jewelry, and firearms. Please be alert to all activity in your neighborhood and call 911 if you see or hear anything suspicious.

Over the last several weeks, the Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) has seen a small increase in residential burglaries across Golden Valley, generally occurring during the day and into early evening when homeowners are away from home.
The Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) has taken several reports over the last two weeks of theft from vehicles and vehicles that have been tampered with. All of the reported incidents have occurred in the northeast corner of the city (Zone 5).
