City crews had a packed spring, summer, and fall of road construction projects, completing some and making progress on others. Meanwhile, City engineers are already planning and designing projects to begin as early as spring 2019.
Golden Valley Rd between Decatur Ave N and the Hello Apartments will be closed from Tuesday, Oct 23 to Friday Oct 26 (weather permitting).
With 100 percent of the natural gas main installed for CenterPoint Energy’s 2018 Belt Line Project, crews are now restoring the areas affected by the construction and expect to finish in October.
The Duluth St ramp to northbound Hwy 100 will be closed beginning Oct 12, 9 pm, as crews continue the Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) Golden Valley Interceptor Rehabilitation sewer project. The ramp is expected to reopen by Oct 15, 5 am.
Beginning Fri, Sept 7, construction on Plymouth Ave will be flipped, with the work zone moving to the south side of the road and travel lanes moving to the north side. Crews expect traffic to move slowly through the construction zone, therefore extra signage has been added to alleviate driver confusion.
The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) is working on two sewer maintenance projects in Golden Valley that will will result in lane closures and detours. One project is in Theordore Wirth Park, and the other is in the Toledo Ave area.
The Golden Valley Rd Bridge (County Rd 66) over Bassett Creek is now open to traffic. Be alert for work in the area, as private utility companies continue working on Golden Valley Rd near the completed bridge.
