Proposed Medley Park Amenity Changes

Based on input from the City’s 2016 community survey, Golden Valley’s Open Space and Recreation Commission (OSRC) researched the addition of an off-leash pet exercise area and a community garden to the City’s park system. In Feb 2020, the Golden Valley City Council decided to move forward with the installation of a community garden at Medley Park and not the off-leash pet area. The garden is currently expected to be installed in 2022.

The City began exploring proposals for adding these amenities earlier in 2019, with a focus on updating problem areas at Medley Park. The public provided input at an April 2 community open house as well as via email, social media, and an online comment form. The Medley Park proposal overview and resulting Community Input Report are available on the City website (see box).
