Adaptive Recreation—REACH

Reach logoThe City of Golden Valley is a member of an eight-city cooperative agreement that provides leisure services through REACH (Recreation, Education, Advocacy, Counseling, and Health) for Resources, Inc. REACH serves individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Services include information and referral, advocacy, and counseling. Programs include social/recreation groups, support groups, and education

Inclusion in Park & Recreation Programs

REACH provides inclusion facilitators for children and adults with disabilities who would like to participate in the City's Park and Recreation programs. After registering, contact REACH for Resources at 952-200-3030 to discuss the needs/accommodations for the participant. A two week notice is necessary for a successful inclusion.

Other Adaptive Agencies

Northwest Community Support Program

A free service provided by Hennepin County for Adults with a serious mental illness. Located at 5510 West Broadway in Crystal. Call 612-752-8300 for more information.

Courage Center

Offers programs for people with physical disabilities of all ages and abilities, including social activities and competitive and recreational sports. Call 763-588-0811 or visit for more information.
