Chess Club Ages 6–14

Mon & Wed, June 14–July 21, 3:15–4:25 pm

This is a great way to learn the game of Chess, engage in match play, and share your knowledge about the game. Bring your own Chess set or use ours. $28 ($33 non-resident). Code: 10770.

Summer Survivor Ages 6–14

A fun, kid-friendly version of the popular television show. Kids will participate in various challenges that will test their mind and body. At the end of the summer, participants will come together at tribal council and vote for the 2011 Summer Survivor. $31 ($36 non-resident). Code: 10771.

Fishing ClubAges 8–14

Tues, June 14–July 19, 9 am–noon
Begins and ends @ Lions Park

Come join us as we check out some fishing hot spots in and near Golden Valley. We‘ll provide the bait and take your pole/tackle to the fishing location for you. All trips will begin and end at Lions Park. Participants will bike to and from fishing locations, including Wirth, Medicine, and Cedar Lakes. Fishing is catch and release. Participants must bring fishing pole and tackle, bike, and helmet. $27 ($32 non-resident). Code: 10760.

Explorers Hiking & Biking ClubAges 8–12

Wed, June 15–July 20, 9:30–11:30 am
Begins and ends @ Lions Park

Join the park staff at Lions Park for hiking and biking trips to the Golden Valley Public Safety Building, Westwood Hills Nature Center, Animal Humane Society, and other fun sites. Dress for the weather and bring a snack and/or beverage to enjoy. Explorers will hike on the first outing and receive a schedule for the remaining weeks. $32 ($38 non-resident). Code: 10796.

Bike Rangers Ages 10–14

Tues & Thurs, June 15–July 22, 1–4:15 pm
Begins and ends @ Lions Park

Grab your bike and helmet for 12 summer afternoons of fun and adventure! Boys and girls will pedal their way around the West Metro. All treks begin and end at Lions Park. Participants MUST ALWAYS ride with the group leaders. Most rides are 12-20 miles round trip. Participants must provide a properly working bike, helmet, lock, water, and appropriate clothing. $34 ($39 non-resident). Code: 10758.
