Ongoing Activities
New players are always welcome. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to get set up. All groups meet at Brookview in the Valley Room. No pre-registration required.

Coffee Talk
Join us on the fourth Wednesday of the month for juice, donuts, informative programs and, of course, coffee! $2 payable at door (register ahead of time by calling 763-512-2345).
Defensive Driving
Adults age 55+, save up to 10 percent, three-year discount on car insurance premiums and become a better driver by taking a state-approved National Safety Council Defensive Driving course. These classes are taught by professional certified instructors and offered by the Minnesota Safety Council. No tests are given but attendance is required to receive the certificate of completion.
Registration & Certificate of Completion:
To guarantee certificate at class completion, register at least seven days in advance with the Minnesota Safety Council. Make checks payable to “Minnesota Safety Council” and mail to: 474 Concordia Ave, St. Paul, MN, 55103. Call 651-291-9150 to register with Visa or MasterCard.

Driver Improvement Programs
This is a Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center (MHSRC) Driving Improvement Program for those over age 55. Classes are taught by a certified instructor from the Minnesota Highway Safety Center. Minnesota State Law allows a 10 percent reduction in auto insurance premiums for three years upon completion of the course.

With rising consumer costs, finances and investments are of more interest than ever. Join us as we hear speakers from companies dealing with finances and investments present information important to today’s investor. Donations accepted for refreshments. No pre-registration required.
Free Medicare Counseling (provided by Senior LinkAge Line)
You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers. Senior LinkAge Line counselors meet with you one-on-one to provide informed, unbiased assistance while helping you navigate the often complex process of enrolling in Medicare or supplemental health insurance policies.
Program is offered at Brookview, the second Thursday of each month, at 9:30 am, 10:30 am, and noon. Dates are listed below. Register online or by calling the Senior LinkAge Line at 800-233-2433.

Living Wise & Well (canceled until further notice)

Pedal Pushers & Daytime Biking Group
Brush off your bicycle and join us! We meet twice per month and ride 6 to 12 miles on local trails.
Pickleball
Pickleball is a game played on a badminton or tennis court with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center.
Meal & Assistance Programs
Chore Services
H.O.M.E. (Household and Outside Maintenance for Elderly) provides help with indoor and outdoor household chores and minor home repairs for people age 60 and older. Call 952-746-4046.
Meal Programs
Dinner at Your Door
Volunteer drivers deliver delicious meals to people unable to come to the Senior Dining site to eat. If you are interested in this program, as a consumer or a driver, call Joanne from 9:30 to 11:30 am for information. Menus are available. Call 763-531-1183.
Senior Dining
Senior Dining provides delicious noon meals at Crystal Community Center for seniors age 60 and older. Tasty meals and eating with friends make this a great program. A donation of $3.50 is requested, but no one will be denied a meal. Call 763-531-1183 from 8:30 to 11:30 am for reservations.
Senior Linkage Line
This telephone information and referral service helps senior citizens and family members of Hennepin County locate needed services close to home such as home meal programs, congregate dining, counseling, transportation, reassurance, daycare centers, volunteer opportunities, and health services. Trained volunteers and staff answer phones between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Call 1-800-333-2433.
Senior Outreach
Senior Outreach helps seniors in suburban Hennepin County remain independent by linking them with a broad range of services and programs. Staff meets with seniors (and often families) in their own homes to explore the most appropriate and cost-effective services available to them. This program of Senior Community Services also provides support groups for seniors and caregivers. Call 952-746-4028.
Widow Assistance
A widow support group meets Saturdays at the New Hope Country Kitchen (42nd and Winnetka) at 2 pm. New people are always welcome!
