Governance

Northwest Community Television (NWCT) began in 1982 and is funded by a joint powers agreement that supports public access and local programming activities through local franchise and community television fees. Nine adjacent cities are part of the franchise agreement between Comcast and the Northwest Suburbs Cable Communications Commission (NWSCCC). They include Brooklyn Center, Brooklyn Park, Crystal, Golden Valley, Maple Grove, New Hope Osseo, Plymouth, and Robbinsdale. Oversight and regulation of the cable television franchise in this area is provided by the NWSCCC.
