Between annual commissioner resignations and current openings, the City of Golden Valley has seats open on six of its boards and commissions. Interested community members are encouraged to submit an application by April 14.
The BZA hears requests for variances from the Zoning Code. The BZA currently has a youth seat available.
The DEIC advises, recommends, and assists the Council in matters relating to diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights. The DEIC currently has two regular seats available.
The EC advises and makes recommendations to the City Council in matters relating to and affecting the environment. The EC currently has a youth seat available.
The Golden Valley Human Services Commission plans and holds fundraisers and events to help raise money to meet human service needs in the community and advises the City Council on allocation of funds. The HSC currently has three regular seats.
The OSRC advises, recommends, and assists Council in policies and plans relating to open space needs, parks and recreation programs, trail systems, and Brookview Golf Course. The OSRC currently has a youth seat available.
The Planning Commission advises, recommends, and assists the Golden Valley City Council in matters relating to planning and growth of the City, including issues relating to the social, economic, and physical environment. The PC currently has one youth and one regular seats available.
