Republic Services reported to the City that glass was found contaminating a recent organics load. Even in very small quantities, glass cannot be organics recycled as it leads to shards and splinters in the soil. Residents are strongly encouraged to think twice before putting waste in garbage, recycling, and organics recycling bins.
Food scraps, soiled paper, and compostable products can all be put in organics recycling. Click to see the full list.
Newspaper, washed glass/plastic bottles and can, cardboard, and junk mail can all be put in traditional recycling. Click to see the full list.
Diapers, Styrofoam, plastic bags, animal waste, and medical waste can be put in a garbage can.
