Apply To Serve On A City Board Or Commission

The City of Golden Valley has regular and student openings on a variety of its board and commissions. Community members are encouraged to apply by Aug 19.

Board of Zoning Appeals

The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) hears requests for variances from the Zoning Code. The BZA has one youth member opening.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission

The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Commission (DEIC) advises, recommends, and assists the Council in matters relating to diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights. The DEIC has one regular and one youth opening.

Human Services Commission

The Human Services Commission (HSC) plans and holds fundraisers and events to help raise money to meet previously identified human service needs in the community. The HSC has four regular openings.

Open Space & Recreation Commission

The Open Space and Recreation Commission (OSRC) advises, recommends, and assists Council in policies and plans relating to open space needs, parks and recreation programs, trail systems, and Brookview Golf Course. The OSRC has one regular and one youth opening.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission (PC) advises, recommends, and assists Council in matters relating to planning and growth of the City, including issues relating to the social, economic, and physical environment. The PC has one youth member opening.
