Earlier this month the Golden Valley City Council adopted zoning code regulations to allow Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) on single-family properties in Golden Valley.
An ADU is a secondary housing unit or apartment that exists on the same property as a single-family residence, either attached or detached from the primary residence.
Before building an ADU, residents will need to submit an application and must wait for approval from the City, and as ADUs can come in all shapes and sizes, some projects may require a conditional use permit.
Residents can begin submitting applications in January 2023.
