Due to improved operator hiring and retention, starting June 17 Metro Transit will restore bus service to routes where cuts were made in October and December 2022.
Route 9
Route 9 will resume 30-minute weekday midday service from its current frequency of 60 minutes to Golden Valley employers and residents just north of I-394. While not final, the goal by mid-August is to bring back 30-minute frequency for weekday early morning and early evening service as well as 30-minute frequency for Saturdays (from the current 60-minute frequency).
Route 705
Route 705 will restore the “B” branch service via Douglas Dr with trips every 120 minutes. This will improve frequency on the main part of the route via Winnetka from trips every 120 minutes to every 60 minutes.
Route 645
Route 645 will restore weekday peak 30-minute service from its current 60-minute service level and 60-minute frequency on weekends from its current 120-minute frequency level. This includes reestablishing Golden Valley connections to/from Mound, Spring Park, Orono, and Minnetonka Beach as well as weekday midday service to Wayzata. Staring June 17, 2023, the 645 route through the north parking lot of the General Mills complex will be eliminated and riders will access the 645 at existing stops on Betty Crocker Dr.
