The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources (BWSR) is accepting applications for the Lawns to Legumes program, which aims to increase residential habitat for at-risk pollinators across the state. All Minnesota residents are eligible for individual support grants, which reimburse gardeners for up to $400 in costs associated with establishing pollinator habitats in their yards.
Residents can apply online at Blue Thumb’s website. Applications will be accepted through Nov 30, 2023. Funding decisions and all notifications will be emailed in March 2022. Any applications submitted Aug 22, 2022 or later that were not previously awarded a grant will remain in consideration for Spring 2024 funding and do not need to be resubmitted.
BWSR partners with Metro Blooms and Blue Thumb–Planting for Clean Water to administer the program. For more information on Lawns to Legumes, see BWSR’s website.
