Golden Valley police officers responded to a 3 am burglary call Tuesday, Aug 15 at a home in the 3400 block of Terrace Ln in Golden Valley. The Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) is seeking the public's help in apprehending the suspect involved.
According to Golden Valley Police Chief Virgil Green, the homeowner reported encountering a male, described as African American, in his 20s, and wearing a red hoodie, holding a hammer inside his residence. The suspect allegedly demanded money from the victim, who complied. The suspect then fled the location in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.
In response to the incident, the GVPD promptly established a perimeter and initiated a thorough search of the surrounding area with the assistance of neighboring law enforcement agencies and a canine unit. Despite these attempts, the suspect remains at large.
The GVPD is asking for help from those who reside in the vicinity of the 3400 block Terrace Ln.
“Anyone who has security cameras or video feeds that may have captured relevant footage is urged to contact us at 763-593-8059,” says Green. “Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could potentially lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect.”
“The Golden Valley Police Department remains fully committed to resolving this case swiftly and bringing the perpetrator to justice,” adds Green. “Our officers and investigators are diligently working on this investigation, following up on all leads, and using all available resources.”
