Golden Valley police are investigating an auto theft from a local luxury car dealership in Golden Valley. Officers responded to a call around 5:20 am Thursday, Aug 17, 2023, at Porsche Minneapolis in the 9500 block of Wayzata Blvd, Golden Valley.
According to Golden Valley Police Chief Virgil Green, the initial investigation revealed that suspects unsuccessfully attempted to drive a vehicle through the dealership’s service door. They then pried open a door leading into the service area and manually moved a vehicle to get to a black Porshe 911, which was stolen.
Green said the same black Porsche was involved in a brief pursuit in North Minneapolis around 9 am Aug 17. After striking a Hennepin County deputy’s unit, the suspects fled the area in the vehicle, which was last seen in the area of Duluth St and Hwy 100 in Golden Valley.
“Golden Valley Police Department detectives are working with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Minneapolis Police Department regarding this Porsche auto theft,” said Green. “We do have some good information that will help in leading to an arrest, and we continue to seek the public’s assistance in these investigations. If you see this vehicle or others, call 911 or contact the GVPD at 763-593-8059 or email us at police@goldenvalleymn.gov.
