As the Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) continues its efforts to rebuild staffing levels, it is partnering with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) to ensure the safety and security of Golden Valley residents. This collaboration allows for efficient patrolling and prompt response to calls for service throughout the city, as well as timely and thorough investigations into incidents that require follow-up.
In a recent development, GVPD and HCSO staff worked together to establish a data reporting structure to enhance information sharing. Under this new framework, all calls for service related to Golden Valley, regardless of whether they were handled by the GVPD or HCSO, will be incorporated into a unified report.
In line with the GVPD's commitment to transparency and community engagement, the combined data will be available to the public through a weekly Activity Report. The report is available on the City of Golden Valley's official website under “Crime Statistics & Police Policies.”
“Through our community outreach, we received feedback and requests asking for these numbers,” says Golden Valley Police Chief Virgil Green. “Thanks to the work of our staff, we can now provide the information our neighbors are asking for. This collaborative effort with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is a testament to our shared commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Golden Valley residents.”
