Southbound Hwy 100 Will Be Closed Aug 25-27
August 23, 2012
Southbound Hwy 100 between I-394 and Hwy 62 will be closed at 5 am Saturday, Aug 25 and will reopen by 5 am Monday, Aug 27.During the closure, motorists will be detoured to westbound I-394, southbound Hwy 169 and eastbound Hwy 62.
The full closure is needed so MnDOT maintenance crews can conduct a variety of functions, including overhead bridge inspection, repair on all Hwy 100 bridge decks spanning local roadways, crack sealing and joint repairs, inspection and repair of expansion joints, mill and patch of roadway segments, signage and guardrail repairs, roadway sweeping, pavement markings, inspection and repair of electrical systems, clearance and repair of drainage structures, and removal of debris, foliage and weed growth where necessary. The work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the case of inclement weather.
The goal of this overall approach is to lessen the number of non-rush hour lane closures and to be more efficient with MnDOT resources. Work on northbound Hwy 100 was completed Aug 18-20.
