Joint Water Commission Cities Require Customers To Conserve

Although power has been restored to the Joint Water Commission’s (JWC) water pumping facilities in Golden Valley and Crystal, subsequent repair issues require water conservation efforts until further notice for residents and businesses in the JWC Cities of Crystal, Golden Valley, and New Hope.

The June 21 storm caused power outages at the JWC water pumping facilities in Golden Valley and Crystal, both of which supply drinking water to all JWC customers. Shortly after power was restored, a water supply main to the Crystal facility sustained damage and became inoperable.

With just one pumping station working to supply water to three communities, the JWC is restricting water consumption to essential uses until further notice. Non-essential uses include lawn irrigation, vehicle washing, etc. The JWC will issue an all-clear notice when it’s able to produce water at both of its water pumping facilities.
