Annual Bike Rodeo Returns May 7

The annual Bike Rodeo, after being canceled last year due to snow, will return May 7, from 6 to 8 pm, at the Golden Valley City Hall parking lot. Bring your kids, or attend as a volunteer opportunity.

The Bike Rodeo educates kids ages 12 and under in bike safety and introduces them to local law enforcement in a fun environment. Participants try out their biking skills on an obstacle course while experts teach hand signals and fix mechanical problems with bikes and helmets. No registration required. Sponsored by the Cities of Golden Valley, New Hope, and Crystal, and Golden Valley  VFW Post 7051.

Each year several volunteers are needed to help the Police Department ensure a fun and safe event. Greeters, helmet fitters, course helpers are needed, as well as people to help set up and take down. To sign up, contact Sandy Werts at 763-512-2341 or register online.
