Beginning Monday, Sept 29, southbound Winnetka Ave will be closed between Hwy 55 and Western Ave to allow Michels Corporation to install a new CenterPoint Energy high pressure gas transmission line. A CenterPoint Energy utility reconstruction project is scheduled to start Thursday, Sept 25 in Golden Valley along Winnetka Ave between Harold Ave and Golden Valley Rd. The three- to six-week project will have a significant impact on traffic due to lane shifts and closures, but full access will be maintained to all businesses and residents. Read More

For six years citizen volunteers have come together to plant and maintain lilacs in the right-of-way of Hwy 55 through Golden Valley. The seventh annual Lilac Party will Saturday, Sept 27, 8:30 am to 1 pm. The City is looking for anyone 16 or older who wants to help with the grassroots beautification project. Read More
