Luce Line Trail In Wirth Park To Close For Repairs Oct 27

Beginning on Monday, Oct 27, the Luce Line trail in Theodore Wirth Regional Park will undergo repair work for approximately seven days. According to a Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board representative, the paved Luce Line trail between Ottawa Ave N and Theodore Wirth Parkway will be closed during the repair work.

Also closed will be the off-road cycling trails in the Back 40 area of Wirth Park (accessed off the Luce Line or from the Hidden Lakes Trail). Off-road cycling trails between Hwy 55 and the rail corridor south of the Luce Line (accessed off of Theodore Wirth Parkway) will not be affected.

Repairs are needed on the trail, which was constructed in 2008, due to poor subgrade soils and failing side slopes. The work will be done by Three Rivers Park District, which has an easement to construct and maintain this trail on Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board property.
