Recycling Collection In Gray Service Area Will Be Delayed One Day Due To Thanksgiving Holiday
November 26, 2014
Due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday, recycling collection for residents in the gray service area will be delayed until Saturday, Nov 29, instead of the usual Friday collection. Residents who live in the blue service area will not see any service changes.
When it comes to filling your recycling cart, please remember:
- All items, including cardboard, must fit in the cart for collection, ideally with the lid closed.
- Crush cans and flatten cardboard. If you still have overflow, place the topmost loose items in a paper bag and gently fold it closed (don’t seal it with tape or staples).
- If you need a larger cart, call Republic Services at 952-941-5174. There is no additional fee for larger or additional carts.
- Place carts outside of the traveled roadway for collection. Carts in the street can pose a safety hazard as well as an operational challenge for traffic, street sweeping, and other maintenance activities.
Golden Valley’s curbside recycling program provides pick-up every other Friday, based on a set service schedule (service area map, blue service area, gray service area). Curbside recycling customers can now sign up for text reminders from Republic Services about their blue and gray service weeks.
