Planning for the METRO Blue Line Extension light rail line (formerly known as the Bottineau line) continues to move forward in anticipation of an opening date in 2021. Golden Valley was recently designated as a “Minnesota Heart Safe Community” by the Minnesota Department of Health and American Heart Association. The Heart Safe designation recognizes a community’s efforts to prepare its staff and citizens to recognize when someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest and how to respond. Minnesota Heart Safe will present the award to the City in early 2015.
