Plymouth’s Tree Sale Taking Orders From GV Residents Now Though May 1

The City of Plymouth’s spring tree and shrub sale is accepting orders from Golden Valley residents through May 1. Trees range from $21-$41; shrubs from $6-$10; and fruits from $6-$18 (non-Plymouth residents will pay a few dollars extra for each selection). Quantities are limited, so order early.

Most of the trees are 5–6 feet tall, and many are sold as bare-root, meaning they do not come with soil on the roots. Trees and shrubs do not come with a warranty.

Several varieties are available that should grow well in this area. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) offers an online tool that can help you decide which kind of plant to get based on site characteristics.

Get order forms online at www.plymouthmn.gov or at the counter in Golden Valley City Hall.

Plants will be available for pick-up at the Plymouth public works maintenance facility (14900 23rd Ave N) from 2-6 p.m. Friday, May 15, and 8-11 a.m. Saturday, May 16.

For more information, or if you have questions about the trees after buying them, contact Tim Teynor, City forester, at 763-593-3976 or tteynor@goldenvalleymn.gov.
