Rep. Keith Ellison will host a public forum on the proposed rail connection in Crystal, Wednesday, March 11, 6:30 to 8 pm, at the Crystal Community Center.

Community members will have an opportunity to hear from local elected officials as well as share their concerns about the project with the federal Surface Transportation Board.

The Crystal Community Center is located at 4800 Douglas Drive North, Crystal, MN 55429.

The Cities of Crystal, Robbinsdale, and Golden Valley already hosted an open house March 7 to provide information about the proposed freight rail connection in Crystal from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railway to the Canadian Pacific (CP) railway.

BNSF has said the connection in Crystal would allow CP freight trains to go south on the BNSF line through Robbinsdale, Golden Valley, Theodore Wirth Park, and Minneapolis.

More information about the proposed BNSF/CP freight rail connection, including links to print and broadcast media stories, is available on the City of Crystal website.
