GV Police Pursue Stolen Vehicle To St Paul And Apprehend Suspect

Golden Valley police pursued a stolen vehicle May 17 from Golden Valley to St Paul, ending in apprehension of the male suspect driving the car as well as a female passenger.
Police were patrolling in the area of Theodore Wirth Pkwy and Golden Valley Rd at 12:34 pm when the automated license plate reader mounted in the squad car indicated a stolen vehicle, which was then confirmed through check of a national database. The suspect fled when police initiated a traffic stop.
The pursuit continued onto eastbound I-94, where the suspect exited at Dale St in St Paul. The pursuing Golden Valley police officer ended the pursuit by using the PIT maneuver on the suspect vehicle.
The male driver was taken into custody while still in the vehicle. The female passenger fled on foot but was soon apprehended by assisting agencies.
