The Douglas Dr project continues to move forward, with crews completing work at the intersection of Medicine Lake Rd (County Rd 70) and Douglas Dr (County Rd 102). All lanes are now open in both directions; however, access to Douglas Dr to the south is still restricted. Read More

Golden Valley’s Human Rights Commission (HRC) will host a National Day of Service and Remembrance community event Sept 11, 9 am-1 pm, at Market In The Valley (the farmer’s market in the Golden Valley City Hall parking lot). Join friends, neighbors, and community members for a fun scavenger hunt of the Market to provide fresh produce to stock PRISM’s shelves. The City of Golden Valley is piloting a program to offer seasonal off-leash pet exercise areas in the outdoor hockey rinks at Gearty and Medley Parks. These areas will officially open Sept 6 and continue daily 7 am–10 pm until winter rink maintenance operations begin. Read More

As work revs up on Golden Valley’s 2040 Comprehensive Plan, City staff will keep residents in the loop with several opportunities to contribute. First up is the Sept 19 Comprehensive Plan Kick-Off Open House, 6:30-8:30 pm, City Hall Council Chambers. There are also opportunities to provide comments online. Read More

The intersection at Douglas Dr (County Rd 102) and Medicine Lake Rd (County Rd 70) will be closed between 7 pm and 5 am  Aug 16, 17, and 18  so crews can replace existing water main pipes beneath the intersection. Read More

The Golden Valley Fire Department received a $2,500 matching grant from CenterPoint Energy this July. The CenterPoint Energy’s Community Partnership Grant helped the City purchase four gas monitors, new helmets and boots, flashlights and traffic safety vests and cones that will be used to serve the community. Learn how to install your child’s car seat or booster seat Aug 30 at the Golden Valley Fire Department. Hosted by Safe Kids Northwest Metro Minneapolis and the Golden Valley Fire Department, the event will be from 4-7 pm and feature nationally certified technicians who will help you properly install your car seat.
