Hennepin County Seeks Volunteers For Pedestrian And Bicycle Counts

Hennepin County is teaming up with Minneapolis Public Works for the 10th annual Bicyclist and Pedestrian Count, and you can help!

The counts in Minneapolis will continue, but this year Hennepin County is seeking volunteers to count pedestrians in communities outside of Minneapolis. The primary need is for shifts from 4-6 pm Sept 13-15. You are welcome to sign up for more than one shift, if you would like.

Minneapolis and Hennepin County conduct pedestrian and bicycle counts to understand the impact of non-motorized traffic on streets, sidewalks, and trails. Accurate counts enable the City and County public works departments to track what is successful and what should be done differently as they plan and build for residents walking and biking.

If you’re interested in volunteering to count, register online or contact Kurt Wayne at kurt.wayne@minneapolismn.gov or 612-673-5011
