Douglas Dr Now Fully Reopened To Traffic

On Dec 13, Douglas Dr reopened to traffic between Duluth St (County Rd 66) and Medicine Lake Rd (County Rd 70). Work is now complete for the year on this stage of the project.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as crews worked the last few months to make improvements to the road. No major closures or detours are currently expected for this section of road in 2017, but crews will be back in early spring for some finishing touches, like filling in permanent sidewalk in certain areas, landscaping, and adding a final layer of paving in some sections.

Winter Work And New Detour

Starting Jan 3, Douglas Dr will close to traffic between Duluth St and Golden Valley Rd (just south of the current work area) so the next phase of construction can begin. The road will remain fully open to traffic between Olson Memorial Hwy (Hwy 55) and Medicine Lake Rd until then.

The new detour for Douglas Dr follows Olson Memorial Hwy (Hwy 55), Hwy 100, and Duluth St. This detour starts Jan 3 and will be in place through 2017 construction. You can find a printable detour map and more information about 2017 work on the project website.

Over the winter, crews will remove and reconstruct the box culvert (passage for water beneath the roadway) at Basset Creek and make improvements to the Honeywell pond.
