City Offers Winter Break Rec Programming Options

Golden Valley Park & Recreation offers several programming options for kids over winter break, including active play, art, theater, and a snow tubing field trip.

The Winter Playground program (ages 8-12) at Lions Park Dec 22-23, 1-4 pm, will feature games, crafts, skating, sledding, and more! Fee is $21. Kids must dress for outdoor activities.

All ages can enjoy a performance of the classic Reluctant Dragon story at the Old Log Theater Dec 23, 9:45 am-noon. Fee is $12. Meet in the theater lobby to pick up your tickets. You must provide your own transportation to the theater.

Kids (ages 7-12) can create a finished work of art at the Cookies and Canvas painting program Dec 27, 1-3 pm, at Brookview Community Center. Fee is $26 and includes supplies, art instruction, and cookies.

Join other local youth (ages 8-14) Dec 30, 9 am-4 pm, for Snow Tubing at Wild Mountain. Fee is $39; bus leaves from the New Hope Ice Arena. Kids should wear weather appropriate clothing and bring a peanut-free bag lunch or money to purchase concession items for lunch.
