Crews Begin Pavement Removal In Douglas Dr Construction Zone
March 31, 2017
Crews are removing pavement in the Douglas Dr construction zone so excavation for utility work can begin and placing erosion control features, such as silt fences, gravel bags, and straw rolls, so crews can move in and proceed with clearing topsoil.
The work involves removing pavement, curbs, and sidewalk along eastbound lanes of Duluth St between Douglas Dr and Adair Ave. Crews are also removing pavement along Douglas Dr, with the exception of northbound lanes from Knoll St to the railroad crossing near Hampshire Place to allow access for local traffic and emergency vehicles.
Please be aware there will be large construction equipment and noise associated with this work.
Upcoming Work On Douglas Dr
Starting next week, crews will change from the current permanent water system to temporary blue pipes in order to conduct water main work on Douglas Dr from Duluth St to Winsdale St.
The change will not impact water service to residents and businesses along the construction area.
Temporary blue pipes sometimes cause cloudy water from extra minerals. This is not dangerous and will usually clear after running the water for around 10 to 15 minutes.
Temporary water service will be in place until mid-June.
