In anticipation of a dusting of snow tonight, City crews have applied an anti-icing solution to the roadways and will be monitoring road conditions into the morning.
The Golden Valley Fire Department encourages residents to keep themselves and their neighbors safe by shoveling out fire hydrants on their block. This prevents fire fighters from having to dig out the hydrants when responding to a fire, saving vital time.
Crews will be out in the early morning Tuesday, Jan 23 plowing all City streets. Please keep in mind that the City’s winter parking ordinance does not allow on-street parking between midnight and 6 am daily from Nov 1 through March 31. Also, parking is prohibited on any public street after a snowfall of at least two inches until the snow has been plowed to the curb line.
Golden Valley’s newest entertainment offering Comedy at Brookview debuts Fri, Jan 26, with national headliner Bengt Washburn. General admission tickets are available through the night of the show, but dinner and package deals close Wednesday at noon.
Submissions Open For 2018 Operation: Rescue Room Contest; Basement Bathroom Takes Home Last Year’s $1,000 Prize
Allyson and Mike Dardis’ basement bathroom had a toilet and a sink, but no walls. Mike had torn them down a few years earlier in preparation for a remodel, but the project was delayed. That’s when the couple heard about Operation: Rescue Room.

The seventh annual Operation: Rescue Room contest will give $1,000 to the homeowner whose room is voted most in need of help by visitors to the Home Remodeling Fair on Feb 11, 2018.
