The bridge that carries the Bassett Creek Trail between Crystal and Golden Valley is set to be closed the week of June 25th due to construction. Work is scheduled to last about a month and the bridge is expected to reopen by August 31.
There are two more opportunities for residents to learn more about becoming a paid on-call firefighter before applications close on July 8. Two recruitment meetings will take place at Fire Station 1, 7800 Golden Valley Rd, on June 28 at 9:30 am and 6:30 pm.
Through many years of harsh winters and unbearable summers, it’s expected that playground equipment, athletic fields, and tennis courts will receive normal wear and tear. The City of Golden Valley will be making the following park improvements in the coming months.

The annual Golden Valley Fire Relief Association Street Dance will be June 23, from 5 pm to midnight, at the Chester Bird American Legion at Highway 100 and Glenwood Ave.
As an effort to make better connections with children and parents in Golden Valley, the Golden Valley Police and Fire Departments make frequent trips to parks around the city during the summer. Since its inception in 2010, Public Safety In The Parks has become a popular tradition that is helping strengthen relationships and communities every year.
