Public Safety In The Parks Starting Next Week

As an effort to make better connections with children and parents in Golden Valley, the Golden Valley Police and Fire Departments make frequent trips to parks around the city during the summer. Since its inception in 2010, Public Safety In The Parks has become a popular tradition that is helping strengthen relationships and communities every year.

Beginning June 21 at Gearty Park, police and firefighters will visit a different City park each week and spend time with the children from the neighborhood. They’ll give safety lectures, serve ice cream, and have fun. On hot days, the firetruck becomes the source of a gigantic sprinkler to help the kids cool down!
