City Offers Voting Reminders For Aug 14 Primary, Plus Detour Map For Precinct 1
With two weeks until Primary Election Day, here are a few reminders regarding your voting options, as well as some special information for voters in Golden Valley’s Precinct 1.
For the Aug 14 primary election, you may vote in person from 7 am–8 pm at your assigned polling place or vote absentee ahead of time. Absentee voting means voting by mail or in person before Primary Election Day.
Early Voting Options
- MNVotes.org—You may apply for an absentee ballot online. The ballot will be sent to your home address with prepaid postage to send back to Hennepin County for counting. Please allow time to receive and return the ballot before the Primary Election Day.
- Absentee Voting—You may come to City Hall (7800 Golden Valley Road) to vote from 8 am–4:30 pm Monday–Friday. Additional absentee voting hours are from 10 am–3 pm Sat, Aug 11 and 8 am–5 pm Mon, Aug 13.
- Direct Balloting Begins Aug 7—This allows you to drop your completed ballot directly into the ballot box at City Hall. All votes will be included in the final count when Hennepin County publishes the results after all polling places are closed.
Voting At Precinct 1 On Election Day
Because of ongoing street construction near the Precinct 1 polling place at Fire Station 3 (3700 Golden Valley Rd), the City recently sent voters in the area a handout with a detour map to help them reach their polling place on Aug 14.
