Two Days Left To Vote Early In The Primary; Precinct 3 Voters Will Have One Building Entrance Aug 14
Early voting is winding down for this year’s primary election. For those voting on Primary Election Day, here’s what you need to know, along with new information for voters in Golden Valley’s Precinct 3 and a reminder for those in Precinct 1.
For the Aug 14 primary election, you may vote in person from 7 am–8 pm at your assigned polling place or vote absentee in person ahead of time.
Early Voting For Golden Valley Residents
City Hall (7800 Golden Valley Road) will be open for absentee voting from 10 am–3 pm Sat, Aug 11 and 8 am–5 pm Mon, Aug 13. After you fill out an absentee ballot application, direct balloting allows you to drop your completed ballot directly into the ballot box at City Hall. All votes will be included in the final count when Hennepin County publishes the results after all polling places are closed.
Voting At Precinct 3 On Election Day
Due to construction at the Precinct 3 polling place (Meadowbrook School, 5430 Glenwood Ave), the only entrance to the building is through Door L, which is located on the east side of the school by the playground, near the large parking lot (see detour map). There is a ramp for ADA access to the building, as well as automatic door openers.
There will be no entry to the office side of the building by the gym. That parking lot is full of construction equipment and not available to vehicle traffic.
Voting At Precinct 1 On Election Day
Because of ongoing street construction near the Precinct 1 polling place at Fire Station 3 (3700 Golden Valley Rd), the City sent voters in the area a handout with a detour map to help them reach their polling place on Aug 14.
