Golden Valley’s annual Mighty Tidy Clean-Up Day will be Sat, Oct 6, 8 am-1 pm, at Brookview Park.
On the morning of Sept 23, 2000, the body of Keke Jefferson-Moore was discovered in Wirth Lake in Golden Valley by two morning walkers. A call was made to local dispatch at 9:50 am advising the Golden Valley Police Department of a possible drowning. An autopsy determined Keke had been murdered. Nearly 20 years later, the case remains unsolved, but the GVPD is not giving up and the investigation is ongoing.
In 2017, the City of Golden Valley began the process of recodifying its City Code. The proposed City Code will include up-to-date legislative language and will be reorganized, in hopes of being more user friendly. The updated City Code will also be housed on a new platform, www.municode.com.
With guidance from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR), the City of Golden Valley is looking to develop a Turkey Management Plan (TMP) and Goose Management Plan (GMP) in hopes of addressing public safety concerns and community nuisance issues.
