For the month of December the City’s Instagram will continue the Golden Valley Vibes series with the hashtag #GVBoldNorth.
The Golden Valley League of Women Voters will host a discussion on mental health Nov 28, 6:30-8 pm, in the City Hall Council Chambers. Panelists Sue Abderholden of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Golden Valley Police Chief Jason Sturgis will present an overview of mental health in our community, followed by a Q & A session with the audience.
The Golden Valley Fire Department (GVFD) wants to make sure residents know the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO), especially during the winter months and how something as simple as a CO detector can save lives.
As people give thanks during the holidays, many often think of ways to give back to their community. The City of Golden Valley Police and Fire Departments are involved in multiple holiday outreach programs to help community members in need.
City staff along with members of the Golden Valley Environmental Commission and the Golden Valley League of Women Voters recently toured Republic Services Minneapolis Recycling Center, to learn about issues that occur when recycling guidelines aren’t followed.
