Golden Valley League Of Women Voters To Host Panel Discussion On Mental Health Nov 28

The Golden Valley League of Women Voters will host a discussion on mental health Nov 28, 6:30-8 pm, in the City Hall Council Chambers. Panelists Sue Abderholden of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and Golden Valley Police Chief Jason Sturgis will present an overview of mental health in our community, followed by a Q & A session with the audience.

Abderholden’s presentation will include trends in mental health issues, early warning signs and/or reasons for trends, and community strategies and interventions to address the mental health needs.

Sturgis’ presentation will include an overview of policing issues in Golden Valley, trends in police calls or arrests, early warning signs and/or reasons for trends, and police/community strategies and interventions to address the issues.

The event will be broadcast on Golden Valley Cable Channel 16 and livestreamed online.
