At their Jan 2 meeting, Golden Valley City Council accepted a total of $106,000 in grants for the improvement of seven ball fields at Wesley, Lions, and Schaper Parks, $10,000 from the Golden Valley Girls Softball Association and the remaining $96,000 from Hennepin County Youth Sports.
The City of Golden Valley is now taking public comments on the Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) for its DeCola Ponds B & C Improvement Project, which will reduce flooding and improve water quality through expanding existing stormwater ponds.

In April 2018 the City Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lime allowing the company to deploy a fleet of dockless bikes and scooters in Golden Valley. Bikes were officially deployed in Golden Valley July 20, 2018, followed by Lime scooters in September. After recommendations from staff, the City Council agreed to extend Lime’s pilot program through 2019.
