Holiday Train Heading To Golden Valley Dec 11

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will roll into Golden Valley Tue, Dec 11, at 4:50 pm, stopping at the railway crossing at Golden Hills Dr. Its 14 rail cars will be decorated with hundreds of thousands of LED lights and holiday designs.

Upon arrival, a stage door will lower for a musical performance by The Trews and Willy Porter and a brief presentation with local dignitaries and food bank representatives. After 30 minutes, the boxcar door will close and the train will move on to the next stop.

Get there early and enjoy food and hot beverages from food trucks like Eastern Promises, Mobile Brats and Burgers, Sweet Dreams Candy, and The Wandering Mug.

Attendees are to follow signs for parking. Drivers will only be able to enter the Allianz parking lot from the east and exit to the north. For more information, reference the Holiday Train Parking Map.

PRISM Food Drive

Donations of healthy food options are encouraged (see CP’s Healthy Donations suggestions). It’s also a good idea to check with PRISM regarding its specific needs this time of year. Representatives onsite will collect both food and monetary donations. Every dollar and pound of food collected at this free event will help feed the 5,000+ individuals who come to PRISM each year.

Holiday Toy Drive

Along with accepting food donations, PRISM will be collecting new, unwrapped presents for their annual Holiday Toy Shoppe, to put a little magic into the holiday season for the 1000+ children they serve. Most desired gift options are sports attire, perfume, make-up, cologne, and more. It’s also a good idea to check with PRISM regarding its specific toy drive needs.
