City Receives Certificate Of Achievement For Excellence In Financial Reporting
The City of Golden Valley has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).
The award was presented to City’s Finance Department by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) and is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
According to the award notification, Golden Valley’s CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program. It demonstrates a constructive spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read it.
GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 19,000 appointed and elected government officials and finance professionals. The association is headquartered in Chicago, IL with offices in Washington, DC.
